More About Coach Morgan
I have worked many youth clinics running drill stations or groups. These were with children ages 4-15 male and female through the Nottingham Strikers organization. I have also done 1 on 1 coaching. Mostly with two main clients both girls age 12. We trained for abs hour minimum twice a weeks usually individually but sometimes together all three of us. Lastly this past fall I was the head coach of a under 9 boys soccer team. There were nine players abs we played a 8 week season where we were undefeated champions.
In high school I earned first team all state honors junior and senior year as well as captaining my high school and club teams junior senior year. I was voted MVP my senior year of club and high school as well as being the first player from my school to commit to a division 1 program. I am now a freshman at Robert Morris University playing on their varsity soccer team. I am a forward currently but have played every position.
I love to focus on footwork and technique. I always start sessions with dribbling and lots and lots of touches. These are basics for any position and player especially at a younger age. Ball mastery drills, dribbling through cones, volleys, and quick one touch passing patterns are examples of these. I then tend to get into passing starting smaller and ending bigger focusing on accurate strong passes but also largely on the first touch receiving a pass. An example would be playing a player in a cone box and challenging them to control their first touch within their box and then returning the pass to me in my box. Then towards the end of a session I move on to 1v1 attacking/defending and finishing. This part varies based on position and what the player wants to work on but this can include 1v1 to goal, 1v1 to cross, lateral 1v1 through gates, finishing off crosses, free kicks, 1v1 player on back turning and shooting or layoff shooting. Then if a player wants we will end with sprints/conditioning.
