I competed on High School Basketball Team (2008 Alumni). In development of my high school career I achieved being the only woman athlete to ever score over 1000 points while leading her team to their first district playoffs High School history. I also was awarded Athletic Scholarships to compete on the collegiate level, starting at the University of Pittsburgh and finishing at Shippensburg University of Pennsylvania. During my collegiate career I was recognized for leading my teams to its first level playoffs appearances for the first time in five years. I also attained the 1000 point scoring title for the collegiate level NCAA Women’s Basketball. Throughout my collegiate career I also voluntarily participated in Shippensburg University’s Girls Basketball Summer Training Camps and College Tours for potential recruited High School Student/Athletes. Here we I taught basketball fundamentals, game rules and regulations to youth, ages 10-18 years. I educated 30-60 youth on importance of nutrition, proper conditioning, and good sportsmanship, while providing campus tours to educate prospective students/parents about athletic facilities and programs to support academic, athletic, and recreational success.
Throughout this time, I took on my B.A. course of study where I have graduated and attained my degree in Human Communication Studies/Organizational Development and Leadership.
After the completion of my studies, I decided to further my basketball career. In which, I was offered the opportunity to play Professional Basketball in Europe (FIBA/WNBA). I competed in WNBA/Europe for 5 years, while becoming a part of Europe's International Basketball’s Training Program. Throughout this program I participated in training/coaching and motivating international student-athletes in basketball rules and regulations. I provided strength and conditioning training to minimize risk of injury to self and others and developed creative ways to communicate with non-English speaking youth.
Overall, I am a highly motivated person that thrives on having a hard work ethic. I am a very focused and passionate about the game of basketball, while helping to not only motivate and encourage young athletes, but to also help educate young student-athletes on the importance of academics, health and fitness, and how to excel within the fundamentals of basketball.
