Coaching Bio – Mink Peeters
My name is Mink Peeters, an active professional footballer currently playing for Westchester SC in New York. Being a player at a high level keeps me deeply connected to the game, and I’m now eager to share my knowledge and passion by coaching young players one-on-one or in small groups here in New York.
Throughout my career, I have played for top clubs including Real Madrid, Ajax, and PSV, gaining invaluable experience at the highest levels of European football. Parallel to my playing career, I serve as the Country Manager for Fundación Real Madrid Clinics in the Netherlands, where I lead and organize official youth training camps based on Real Madrid’s renowned academy philosophy.
Additionally, I have hands-on coaching experience working with youth players at TSV Hartberg in Austria’s Bundesliga. There, I focused on technical development, tactical awareness, and mental preparation for young talents.
I bring a unique combination of active professional playing insight and extensive coaching experience to help young players improve their technique, game intelligence, and mindset — aiming to nurture the next generation of skilled and confident footballers.
Mink Peeters – Football Career Highlights
I am Mink Peeters, a professional footballer with a career spanning top European clubs and international competitions. Currently, I play for Westchester SC in New York, competing in the USL League One. My journey began in the youth academies of PSV Eindhoven and Ajax, where I honed my skills as a left winger.
At 16, I made a significant move to Real Madrid, joining their esteemed youth system. This opportunity allowed me to train alongside some of the world’s most promising talents and gain invaluable experience in a world-class environment.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of playing in various European leagues, including the Eredivisie, La Liga, and the Austrian Bundesliga. I’ve represented clubs such as VVV-Venlo, Almere City, Lleida, Čukarički, FC Volendam, Gulf United, and SV Lafnitz. These experiences have enriched my understanding of different playing styles and cultures, enhancing my adaptability and tactical awareness on the field.
In addition to my club experiences, I have represented the Netherlands at various youth levels, including U15, U16, U17, U18, and U20, gaining international exposure and contributing to my development as a player.
Despite facing challenges, including injuries, I have remained committed to my professional growth. My diverse experiences across different countries and leagues have shaped me into a versatile and resilient player, eager to share my knowledge and passion for football with the next generation.
Coaching Philosophy
In my sessions, my main focus is to ensure that every child experiences natural joy and love for football, because having fun is the most important foundation for real development. Without enjoyment, motivation and progress won’t follow.
Besides fun, I work very specifically on the players’ technique and skills. From my experience in Europe, I know that this is where the foundation for successful football is built: lots of footwork, ball control, and repetition.
Unlike the more physical style often seen in America, I emphasize improving the basic technique: helping kids truly feel and master how the ball behaves, encouraging many touches, and becoming smart with the ball at their feet.
My coaching is all about developing technically skilled players who grow through joy and confidence.
