More About Coach Mike

I have been a Youth/HS/and College Women's lacrosse Coach for 22 years. I've also Coached Mass Elite Club Level lacrosse and currently Coach for the Gold Star club program. I am a PE Teacher and also a certified Personal Trainer. My training sessions include fitness AND lacrosse. I coach my athletes to work through being tired and stay mentally focused on lacrosse. I am available all summer long since I am a HS teacher. I also have availability in the fall. I have been a Head Coach at Walpole, King Philip and North Attleboro HS. My teams at King Philip went an unprecedented 74-0-1 in a 6 year span in league play. 2 of the teams reached the South Sectional championship with one team winning and making the state final.

I am a Xaverian Brothers HS graduate and Stonehill College graduate with a Masters Degree from Endicott and Level 3 US lax certification. I was a HS athlete. I played football, basketball and baseball in HS. My background in basketball helped me shape my style and philosophy in lacrosse. My HS and College teams have always been successful. I've had teams that have consistently won league championships and also State EMass Championships. I was voted Division 1 Coach of the Year in Massachusetts in 2007.

I like to train my athletes to fight through being tired and still successfully complete lacrosse drills. For example, I'll have an athlete do 10 push ups, 10 squats, 10 lunges and 30 seconds of planks followed by a 100 yard up and down hill run while cradling. When that is complete the athlete will immediately move to the lax wall and complete a series of throws and catches on dominate and non-dominate side. The athlete will then move in position to receive feeds from me and shoot at certain spots as directed. The athlete is obviously tired during the wall and shooting session but must focus on fighting through this and stay mentally strong while completing the lacrosse skills. I also cater to the specific athlete needs and can work on any skill set that needs development. I spend lots of time on core strength, stability and proprioception exercises to help my clients become better athletes, not just better lax players.
