I played four seasons professionally in the East Coast Hockey League and Europe. Prior to that I spent 4 seasons in the Ontario Hockey League in Ontario, Canada. After my playing career I spent the next 6 seasons as an Assistant Coach with the Erie Otters of the Ontario Hockey League in Erie, Pennsylvania. The Ontario Hockey League is the premier Major Junior Hockey League for NHL draft eligible players and consistently produces many NHL stars each year.
As a player I relied on my skill, conditioning and speed as I have always been one of the smaller players on every team I played for. I'd love to work with players of all skill levels for either on ice instruction or off ice dry land conditioning. As a coach I worked extensively with players on enhancing their strengths and identifying and improving potential weaknesses. I am a very honest and direct coach and will push you to reach your greatest potential. Having worked with several NHL draft picks over the last 6 seasons as a coach will allow me to provide you with input and advice on what coaches and scouts are looking for at the semi and professional levels.
I'd like to discuss with the athlete what their expectations are for a career, assess their skills and conditioning and then move forward with setting a training schedule based on both of our availability. Ideally the first session would be a consultation and some basic testing to get a baseline and starting point for their advancement. If the player is at a competitive level then I'd like to analyze video of games or practices to provide feedback and insight on areas for improvement.

There are so many camps and clinics out there which have 20-30 players on the ice with a "pro" in which you or your son/daughter may only get contact with the "pro" a few minutes a session. One on one training and feedback is the best way to get immediate feedback and advice on how to develop good habits and allow you to reach your full potential. Have worked with many high NHL draft picks over 6 seasons as a coach such as Ryan O'Reilly of the Colorado Avalanche, Luke Gazdic of the Edmonton Oilers, Anthony Peluso of the Winnipeg Jets, David Broll of the Toronto Maple Leafs, Chris Breen of the Calgary Flames, David Shields of the AHL Chicago Wolves, Andrew Yogan of the AHL Hartford Wolf Pack, Johnny McGuire of the AHL Rochester Americans and Greg McKegg of the AHL Toronto Marlies.
As a player in the OHL I was named the top penalty killer in the Western Conference in 2000-2001. I also lead my team in scoring in the ECHL for the Greenville Grrrowl and also in Austria where I had 34 points in 20 games.

I would like to sit down with the athlete and get a sense of their goals and aspirations. I will also develop a profile based on their strengths and areas of improvement. There will be a baseline fit test to measure against as well. I would like to view video on the player as well to identify a coaching perspective point of view as well as identify the players style.
