More About Coach Mike

I've been training kids in elementary, middle, and high school for the past 6 years. My dad has over 20 years of NBA experience through playing, coaching, and scouting among other assignments and has been a phenomenal mentor to me. I played high school basketball at Highlands Ranch and ThunderRidge both in Highlands Ranch, CO. At ThunderRidge I was an integral part of two state finalist teams in 2003-04 and 2004-05. I played college basketball at Morehead State University in Kentucky with current Nuggets star Kenneth Faried, and finished my college career at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania where I was regarded as one of the best shooters in school history. I graduated from there in 2010. Postgrad I was hired as an assistant coach in the PBL (Premier Basketball League) under my dad who was the head coach for a professional team in Halifax, Nova Scotia the Halifax Rainmen owned by Andre Levingston. There we led the Rainmen to their first playoff victory in franchise history against Lawton Ft. Sill Cavalry, a decision that ended the Cavalry’s 33-game home winning streak who were coached by NBA legend Michael Ray Richardson. The next season (2011-2012) I signed a contract to play for the Moncton Miracles in the NBL Canada. The summers of 2012 and 2013 I was invited to participate in summer workouts with the Denver Nuggets. I'm also an assistant director/coach of the Rock Canyon High School feeder program and an elite coach for Nothing But Net in Parker owned by Marcus Mason who coached at Denver University and Middle Tennessee.

There is no limit to the level or age of players that I'll work with. My individual sessions are demanding mentally and physically because I want to make sure that the player I teach improves and reaches their goals step by step. I have considerable knowledge in every aspect of the game due to being mentored by a man who has seen it all the highest level, and through my own experiences playing and coaching at elite competition levels. Being a knockdown shooter is considered the most dangerous offensive weapon in basketball and that is something that comes natural to me, I know you will have better mechanics through my teachings. Workouts will be game speed with high intensity through ball handling, shooting, passing, defense, agility, quickness and explosion drills.

My son has had three sessions with Coach Mike. He has worked with Joe a lot on his shooting form. It has improved greatly. He likes how Coach Mike explains every detail of shooting and why he needs to do certain things to improve his form to be more consistent with each shoot. Coach Mike is very positive and Joe likes how at the end of every session, he asks him to describe everything that he just learned which reinforces what he was just taught. Thanks Coach Mike!.

I can't say enough about coach Mike. He's fun but he's disciplined. My son looks foward to working hard. I knew my son had learned new moves, gained superior conditioning, shooting form, ball handling skills, and making his teammates better. What I didnt realize is the confidence Mike gave my son. By far and away the BEST coach I have seen. Very technical, he taught my son more basketball in 3 sessions than he learned in a whole season. Don't hesitate to book this coach. I believe Coach Mike can be a game changer. We can't wait to return to the area to have a chance to work with him again.
