My son loved working with Mike. We look forward to many more sessions with him. My son is excited to improve his game.
Working with Mike on a daily basis I saw him, not only effectively coach, but lead and mentor players, gain trust and grow relationships and positively advance our program on and off of the field. Mike has been a pleasure to coach alongside, get to know and work with over his time here at SAU. I fully anticipate Michael having an excellent professional career and I am confident of him being a great ambassador for the sport of soccer
I have had the opportunity to develop an incredible working and personal relationship with Mike Davis over the
last 7 years, as I have served as his soccer coach with the Quad City Eagles (a men's semi-professional soccer
team that plays in the NPSL); his employer with Augustana College Soccer camps; and mentor for other coaching projects. In short, I can describe him as an incredibly selfless leader that strives for improvement and perfection in all he endeavors. I have seen Mike's passion and determination translate to his work as an educator and instructor of soccer. He is incredibly organized with a great desire to exceed expectations in all of his coaching tasks. I can honestly say that he is one of the most committed young coaches to continuing education that I have come across in quite some time. His ability to relate to and instruct youth players is exceptional. He has a very good approach to teaching and leading youth in thoughtful and meaningful learning activities. There is a confidence and ease in his approach that is magnetic, and in my observation kids tend to tune in and receive information from Mike quite easily. In short, I have been impressed with his ability to teach the game!
Anson Dorrance, Head Coach at the University of North Carolina - winner of 22 NCAA D1 National Championships, former Women's National Team Head Coach (Testimonial)
I had the pleasure to meet Mike while he was working on my University of North Carolina team camp. He brought energy and enthusiasm to the camp while working with my staff, and his coaching sessions were very well received by the players. He was able to learn the different sessions and style of play we try to present at the team camp allowing all the players on the 14 teams to improve collectively and individually. Through talking with him about tactics and soccer ideas in general, and spending time answering questions he posed for me at lectures and talks which I presented, I could see his depth of knowledge for the game. The staff who worked with him during his time in North Carolina, were very impressed with his knowledge, enthusiasm and ability to learn new ideas and techniques in a speedy manner. Mike is a pleasure to work with because of his positive attitude and infectious enthusiasm for soccer. He would bring that to any coaching position.
I hired Mike last spring as my assistant coach at Gonzaga University. I was very impressed with Mike’s passion for not only developing quality players, but quality individuals who are prepared with the skill set to problem solve and succeed in, and after college. He brought many new ideas to our program in regards to developing team chemistry and building character through sport. Mike is a sharp coach who has a very good foundation of soccer technique and tactics. His ability to find very appropriate teaching clips and his delivery was spot on each time during his video analysis of games and practices. If I had the opportunity to hire Mike Davis again, I would not hesitate for one moment.
