Michael Wade

I'm currently entering my third year as the lead assistant coach at Whatcom Community College (NWAC) in Bellingham, WA. My current stint at WCC was preceded by a two year stint as an assistant at Western Washington University (NCAA DII). During both of these stops, I've been hands on in working out of players and taking them through the off season skill development program. 2017-18 will be my ninth season coaching basketball, with five of those years having been at the college level.

Following the conclusion of my high school career at Antelope Valley High School in Lancaster, Ca; I attended Northwest Indian College in Bellingham, WA. I was a two-year starter for NWIC, including holding the captaincy in both seasons.

All sessions will be customized to improve the weaknesses in a players game, while continuing to polish their strengths. Each session begins with a dynamic warm up, followed by a stationary ball handling progression to warm up. The focuses for each workout will include: footwork, coordination, shooting, ball handling and overall basketball IQ. Each move and progression will be taught with a game-like situation in mind. A player must know the "why" behind a move and not just the "how".
