More About Coach Michael
Coach Michael Rogers is an Alumni of Valparaiso University where he played 4 years of division 1 basketball under the coaching of the one of the most winning-est coaches in the history of the NCAA, Coach Homer Drew.
Throughout his 4 years of playing he has learned a lot and developed his skills to the point where he is a member of the Jamaica national basketball team and also play professional basketball in Europe.
Throughout his college career and after he has always enjoyed working with players of all ages and even volunteering at the local YMCA to help players develop their skill of the game just like he was able to do. He was fortunate enough to have almost played every position in college so he has a good grasp of the work that needs to be done to develop each area of the game. He is original a shooting guard/small forward so he has in depth knowledge of those positions which would make his specialties; ball handling, shooting, footwork, defense, pivoting, playing off screens, moving without the ball and passing. Coach Michael focuses on teaching the small details that will give you that extra edge on the court.

In all of our sessions we will aiming for growth and development so therefore no sessions will be the same, I will always strive to bring something new to the table but if there is a specific skill to focus on I will incorporate that development in different ways. With that said, I normally start a session with a dynamic warm up, followed by shooting and skill development and conditioning. At the end of each session there will be goal oriented game targeting a specific task or skill.

We just had our first session with Coach Mike. Our son is just starting off but he had a great time with Coach Mike. He had fun and felt pretty psyched about the game. So glad we were able to connect with him.

Coach Michael was on-time, prepared, and worked well with my son. My 14-year-old takes his basketball seriously and this was a good sign. As soon as it was over, my son asked if we could book our next session - which is a good sign. We have already booked our next session and look forward to continuing to work with Coach Michael as my son prepares for the AAU season. Thank you for encouraging a strong work ethic, setting high standards, and remaining positive. Best, Rachael

Coach Michael, does a great job of pushing you to work hard during the sessions. He has a great fun personality which makes him enjoyable to work with. He offers helpful positive feedback on how you can get better. And is helpful and complimenting what you are already good at, and how you can improve to be even better

Jim (CoachUp client)
My son really enjoyed his session. He said he has never been taught/instructed on most of the things addressed.
Monica Wright (WNBA Player/ Seattle Storm) (Testimonial)
I haven't worked with him long but in my brief sessions I can tell he has the ability to make me better. His consistency and attention to my personal needs as a professional player were top of the line. There is no ego or hidden agenda, just pure trying to get me better as a player. I was able to chat with him about my specific needs and he adjusted my workouts with modifications that would be perfect for my needs. I will definitely be working with him on a regular basis.
