More About Coach Michael

15+ years coaching experience in baseball, football, basketball and soccer for kids from 5 to 17. I was head coach of a 12U travel team that made it to the semi-finals at a Cal Ripken national tournament in Aberdeen, MD and am currently HC of a highly competitive 17U team based in Westchester. My focus is on the crucial long term fundamentals for beginners with more advanced techniques for higher ability players.

Including college high school and beyond, I played baseball, football and ran high hurdles in track. Highlights included: 2nd in the Mass state relays in hurdles my senior year, played in the Russell Athletic Pop Warner National Championship, a Little League City Championship, College Baseball at Saint Michael's, and I have been playing on a championship 35+ men’s baseball team for several years. Finally, I'm a competitive squash player in several leagues in Westchester County.

For my sessions, first it's about listening and evaluation and shared and stated goals for improvement before we start. For beginners, typically the focus is on teaching the invaluable long term fundmentals needed to build a foundation in all aspects of the game, while intermediate and advanced players would learn techniques and drills appropriate for their ability. My goal is to help them excel in the game and stand out from the crowd in the eyes of coaches. Most importantly, by playing the game well it always leads to more fun.

Coach Michael is an excellent coach. My son truly enjoyed his session with him. His positivity, training methods, and knowledge of the game are superb. We just started one-on-one training for our 9 year old son to get ready for the upcoming baseball season. Coach Rideout's lessons are well planned and focus on the much needed technical fundamentals.
