More About Coach Michael
I have experience coaching and training players across a wide range of ages, with a strong emphasis on individual development. My background includes working with youth teams as well as running one-on-one and small-group sessions for players at the middle school, high school, and college levels.
I competed at the NCAA Division I and Division II levels, gaining experience in highly competitive collegiate environments that demanded strong technical ability, tactical understanding, and professionalism on and off the field.
Following college, I trained and competed in professional environments with clubs in the USL Championship, including Hartford Athletic and Lexington SC. These experiences exposed me to the standards, intensity, and expectations of the professional game, including daily training habits, match preparation, and performance demands.
Each session is built around the individual player’s age, level, and specific goals. Sessions typically begin with a technical warm-up focused on ball mastery, coordination, and clean movement on the ball to prepare the player physically and mentally.
From there, the session becomes more targeted. For younger players, the focus is on building a strong technical foundation through repetition, confidence on the ball, and simple decision-making in game-like environments.
For older or more advanced players, sessions are more position-specific and game-oriented. Training includes realistic scenarios the player frequently encounters in matches, such as receiving under pressure, attacking or defending in space, speed of play, and decision-making at game tempo.
Every session finishes with competitive or game-based exercises to help translate training into real match performance. My goal is for players to leave each session with clear takeaways and increased confidence.
