More About Coach Meg

I have extensive experience coaching and training athletes, both individually and in group settings. I’ve worked as a fitness trainer, leading various training programs, including sports camps focused on building foundational skills and overall fitness. My coaching experience spans multiple levels, from beginners to intermediate athletes who are looking to improve their performance and physical conditioning.

I typically work with youth and young adult athletes, ages ranging from elementary school students to high school athletes, helping them develop strength, endurance, and sport-specific skills. My approach emphasizes a supportive and motivational environment tailored to each athlete’s goals and abilities. I have a strong foundation in fitness and athletic training principles and am committed to continuous learning to enhance my coaching skills.

I bring a strong athletic background to my coaching, having played basketball at Montreat College for two years, which instilled in me a deep commitment to teamwork and discipline. Prior to college, I earned conference and county track runner of the year honors in high school, which further fueled my passion for training and developing in sports.

As a coach, I work with athletes across various age groups, from youth to high school, focusing on personalized skill-building and conditioning programs. My experience as both an athlete and a trainer allows me to understand the challenges athletes face and to create supportive, motivating environments that help them succeed.

In a typical session, clients can expect a personalized approach tailored to their specific goals. I begin by reviewing what they want to achieve, whether it's improving overall fitness, working on specific skills, or preparing for competition. Each session is then structured to focus on these objectives, starting with a dynamic warm-up to get their body ready and prevent injury.

From there, we dive into targeted drills and exercises. For example, if the client is a basketball player looking to improve ball control and agility, we’ll incorporate speed focused exercises, footwork exercises, and agility training. I provide specific feedback throughout to refine technique and build confidence, adjusting the session as needed to ensure progress.

I wrap up each session with a cool-down and a quick recap, discussing areas for improvement, and any drills they can practice independently. My aim is to create an engaging, goal-oriented environment that supports each athlete’s unique journey toward improvement.
