More About Coach Meghan
I started playing soccer when I was 4. I played in the elite clubs national league in the unites states and briefly played division 3 in college. I am now a retired athlete with a couple of kids.
I’ve coached kids aged 4 all the way to 13. I was a coach for a youth recreational league in Connecticut for a couple of years back in 2016. Since then I’ve been doing private coaching and small group sessions based in a Halifax, Nova Scotia.
My sessions also include fitness, speed, agility, strength training, and acl injury prevention.
I played in the elite clubs national league which meant I was competing against the best in the country. I traveled all over the states to compete in showcase competitions, Arizona, Chicago, California, Florida, etc. The team I played for at FSA FC won the showcase tournament in 2017.
In high school I was awarded athlete of the year in my freshman year, and proceeded to become captain of the varsity soccer team in my senior year.
I played division 3 briefly in college and was offered spots on both Kenyon and Colby’s soccer teams, until I moved to Canada to start a new life.
Sessions are based on what the client wants to work on. I can provide input if the client is unsure of what needs improvement. Our first session is for me to understand what level you are at physically and technically. I will ask to complete different drills to showcase your abilities. After that first session we can come up with a game plan. There are so many different aspects of the game that we can focus on so it is important that I’m getting input from the player.
I was a defensive player, but I was very versatile and can teach proper techniques for tackling all the way to proper shooting techniques. Ball handling and first touch are my top priorities when working with younger kids, as being able to keep and control the ball gives an edge to their play.
