More About Coach Max

I’ve coached athletes across various levels and age groups, primarily through roles at Brooklyn City FC, Futbol Rebels, and college soccer camps for Brown University and St. John’s University. My experience spans from grassroots to high-performance environments, focusing on youth development and competitive training. I’ve worked with boys and girls ranging from ages 6 to 18, tailoring sessions to both recreational and elite players. My coaching emphasizes technical development, tactical understanding, and building confidence. At Brooklyn City FC and Futbol Rebels, I’ve helped shape training curriculums and led small group and team sessions. At the college camps, I contributed to high-level identification and development for prospective student-athletes. I’m passionate about player growth and education, and I’m actively working toward earning formal coaching certifications to continue developing professionally and better support the athletes I train.

I’ve had the privilege of competing at a high level throughout my soccer career. I played for the NYCFC Academy, where I developed in a professional environment and competed in top-tier national and international tournaments. One of the highlights was playing in the Generation Adidas Cup, where I earned the Golden Glove award for top goalkeeper, competing against elite international academy teams such as Manchester United and FC Barcelona. I play Division 1 collegiate soccer at Brown University, where I continue to grow as an athlete in a highly competitive and demanding environment. My experience at these institutions has shaped me both on and off the field, allowing me to understand the dedication and mindset required at the collegiate level. These accomplishments have also fueled my passion for coaching and mentoring the next generation of players.

In a typical session with me, clients can expect a high-energy, focused environment that balances technical development, intensity, and fun. I tailor each session to the athlete’s position, level, and specific goals—whether they’re a field player or a goalkeeper. Sessions begin with a dynamic warm-up and movement prep to activate key areas and prevent injury. From there, we progress into technical and tactical drills designed to improve areas like passing, first touch, movement off the ball, finishing, or 1v1 defending. For goalkeepers, I can incorporate specialized work on handling, footwork, distribution, and shot-stopping. I emphasize strong fundamentals, decision-making under pressure, and replicating game-like situations to build confidence and performance. My goal is for every athlete to leave feeling challenged, accomplished, and more prepared for game-day moments—all while keeping the session enjoyable and engaging.
