My workouts are high energy and focused on the folllowing areas for development:
1. Stretching
2. Ball-handling
3. Footwork and creating your own shot
4. Defense Skill Development
5. Shooting
6. Team Play
7. Reading the defense setting Screens appropriately
8. Conditioning Stations
9. Nutrition
To begin every workout we start with dynamic stretching to warm the athlete up while stretching and strengthening their muscles used for basketball.
We then transition into ball-handling and ball control. Using two basketballs, we work on the rythm and coordination of dribbling two basketballs. The purpose of two basketballs is one to work on hand eye coordination along with strengthening and developing both sides of the body. All dribbling drills are on the move, nothing stationary.
We transition from this workout into the agility ladder foot work and creating your own shot of the dribble.
From footwork and shot creation we incorporate a challenge or competition to build on their skill development to enhance pressure, like game situations. Defense is a key component for every players' development. We start with individual defensive workouts into breakdowns three on three four on four into transition defensive game like activities. Following defense we work on catch and shooting drills to provide the necessary muscle memory need to make shots. During the Shooting we create competition to force players to play at game speed intensity.
During Shooting we are critiquing players footwork, form, and follow through to aid them in gaining higher percentage shooting. With every workout we allow players to compete towards the end of the workout as a control scrimmage where we teach them to read and react to the defense how to run a fluid offense along with how to get open using screens.
Lastly, we have conditioning stations that focused on developing strength, balance, and coordination for the muscles used in the game of basketball. We close with everyone making 10 free throws and provide an inspiration quote for the day for the players to take with them.

Client Reviews
Robert (CoachUp client)
Coach Maurice was great with my son who is a 15 year old high school varsity player. Maurice quickly isolated our needs and goals and put my son through a great workout, focusing on both outside shooting, post moves, layup and dribbling drills. My son loved it and we look forward to working with Maurice again soon.
