I'm a 30 year old golf instructor and former car/life insurance salesman from Dothan, Alabama. For years I struggled to give great golf lessons that truly helped the players I was teaching, and even when I did it always took FOREVER...partly because golf is not the easiest game in the world but mostly because what I was teaching people in some cases, OK, in MOST cases, was the EXACT opposite of what I now know to be true about the golf swing. After having mediocre results for SO long, I began selling cars to make ends meet for a few years but deep down I always wanted to teach the golf swing full-time. It's my passion, it's what gets me going. I wanted to be great but I always seemed to struggle and what I found out after having all my players move on to other instructors was that it was my lack of knowledge, training and understanding that ultimately led to my lack of results.

In 2003, after high-school, I attended the Golf Academy of America were I learned a lot of useful skills relating to the business-side of the golf industry and also what I THOUGHT at the time was a solid basis for teaching the golf swing. Little did I know, but I was being taught a lot of bad habits and old school cliche` teaching methods that were based purely on feel and myth, rather than facts and data. At the time I attended the academy, the ball flight laws (the basis for all shots) I was taught, modern technology has now proven to not only be wrong, but humorously, the EXACT opposite! Regretfully, I just took what I was told from my teachers as fact instead of asking why and exploring for myself what worked and what didn't. It's no wonder I struggled to get the results I wanted for my players. I had it ALL wrong...and then some!

Then one day I discovered two very important things that changed my world-view forever: self-examination of the golf swing and Trackman. When I was at the academy these two concepts weren't even on my radar as video analysis was still a luxury (my Youtube was recorded golf coverage), there were no smart phones, and we were all still wishing and waiting (playing snake on our Nokias) for something as precise as Trackman to come along. But when YouTube began to blossom into the colossal video sharing giant it is today, so too did my knowledge of proper swing mechanics. It was as if all of a sudden one day I woke up and I had access to the greatest golf minds this beautiful time in history had to offer. I began learning from as many of them as possible everyday, soaking up everything that worked for me and also worked for my players. Soon players were getting better, I was getting better and I was actually having fun for a change! I got more out of the couple years of studying on my own than I ever came close to at The Golf Academy of America..Let's just say that was a $50,000 lesson learned the hard way...the good news is that I've been through it so you don't have to!!

Fast-forward a couple years, knowing that I needed to keep learning and advancing as an instructor, me and my partner John Clark decided to get Trackman. What I discovered here was the real game-changer for me, both as a golfer and an instructor. In fact, if you were to bottle up everything I learned prior to getting Trackman, the contents would pale in comparison to the depth my knowledge has reached from using and teaching with Trackman everyday...and that's saying A LOT! Video swing analysis is fantastic, I love it, believe in it and use it everyday but there's something about being able to prove to my players in real-time (with data) what is actually going on that goes that extra step beyond video. Having the numbers right there, I can build instant trust with my players. Knowing EXACTLY why the ball is doing what it is doing and being able to make the necessary changes on the spot to get the desired results is huge for us...plus it cuts our lesson time literally in half! I can't be with my players all the time and they can't be on a Trackman while they play in tournaments, so it became my job to get them to understand what they need to feel in their swing in relation to what we're trying to get the ball to do so that they're able to take that to the golf course....and we are doing just that....with GREAT results this time!

It's truly amazing how much more fun teaching is when your players are playing well and are texting you, thanking you for all your help...that's what all the hard work is for right there. It's really rewarding stuff! It's been a struggle to get here and we're not done yet, but I wouldn't trade the process for anything as we wouldn't be who we are without it.

We coach players of all levels including collegiate and mini-tour golfers from all around the southeastern united states. The highest scoring average of all these players is 75.6

Our teaching philosophy stems from our experience in giving close to a thousand lessons since 2004. Our main focus is on utilizing technology, negative feedback drills and proper club-fitting to get maximum output in the least amount of time possible. Using Trackman we have seen our players improve faster than ever before due to the instant feedback it provides. We also provide high-speed, high definition cameras at multiple angles so players can get a visual of their improvement in regards to their body positioning.
