More About Coach Matthew

I am a retired Professional Soccer Goalkeeper with 4 years of experience playing in the USLPro for the Dayton Dutch Lions and the Wilmington Hammerheads. I also have experience coaching in Division 1 college soccer for the University of Cincinnati (my alma mater), Wright State University (Division 1), and Colby College, where I am currently an assistant. I have many college and professional contacts scattered throughout the country at all levels and love helping people reach their goals whatever they may be. My specialty is goalkeeping but I can work with all positions as I have experience coaching all areas of the pitch.

Typical sessions with me with be catered to the individual to receive the most out of the workout. There will always be a warm up and cool down, but the majority of the session will focus on an individual topic. I really look forward to hearing from you!

Client Reviews

Personable, communicates well, made the athletes feel comfortable, knowledgeable, accommodating. Highly recommend. We'll be back.

Coach Matthew is not only a skilled coach, but a very kind man. He helped my son (aged 12) tremendously. I have no hesitations recommending this coach.

Coach Matthew has helped me tremendously. I have definitely been improving each session. Its nice to have one on one session with someone who has played on a high level team.

Coach Matthew has been excellent working with my son. It has been a pleasure having him share his skills and we look forward to continuing to train with him.

Matt was probably the best goalkeeper coach I have ever had. Every situation that I was put into had been one that he had experienced himself in the past. Matt really used the drills in training to build up to the actual game situations that you would be put into. I would choose Matt to be my goalkeeper coach at any level.
Cody started training with Matt as a freshman and trained with him for 1 year. He increased his punting distance by 25 yards and his goal kicks by 30 yards and also able to hit his targets consistently. He elevated Cody’s intensity and skill level so much that he has become more consistent in the goal. With the hard work that Matt & Cody put in, it paid off this year; Mid-way thru the season he was moved From JV1 to Varsity. After the first game he played on Varsity in District Play he earned the starting position as the Varsity Goalkeeper passing 3 other keepers that were on Varsity. He would later be awarded District GK of the year. Cody would not be at the level he is at without the training and coaching of Matt Williams
