More About Coach Matthew

As an international midfielder with extensive professional experience in various first division leagues, I have developed expertise in high-performance environments and tactical discipline, which I have applied in my 5+ years of coaching experience. I have coached youth players, including at the High School level with SAT Soccer in Miami, Florida (ages 4-20) and Holy Name Convent High School (ages 13-17) in Trinidad.

I hold U.S. Soccer Grassroots 7v7, 9V9 and 11v11 Coaching Licenses and have represented Trinidad and Tobago at Senior, U-20 and U-17 levels and the senior men's futsal team, giving me practical experience paired with professional qualification. I strive to create structured, engaging training environments that promote skill, intelligence and a love for the game.

I have played and represented Trinidad and Tobago at various levels including the Senior Men's Team, Men's Futsal Team, U-20 and U-17 team in CONCACAF and World Cup qualifiers.

I have competed professionally in multiple international leagues. In Iceland I represented DalvĂ­k/Reynir (10 assists, 2 goals) securing promotion. Played in the Maltese BOV Premier League with St. Andrews Luxol.

In the Jamaica Premier League, I represented Montego Bay United and was the captain of Vere Phoenix Fc.
In the Trinidad and Tobago Premier League, I played with Defence Force FC, helping secure a 3rd-place finish, Caribbean Cup qualification and winning the First Citizens Knockout Cup.

Locally, I played with Miami United FC and succeeded to multiple championship wins (NPSL, NSL, PASL).

Clients can expect a structured and detail-oriented session designed for their age, skill level and development goals. Each session begins with a dynamic warm-up that incorporates mobility, coordination and ball activation to prepare the client physically and mentally.

From here on, the drills focus on ball mastery and technical repetition, practicing first touch, passing accuracy, receiving under pressure, movement and awareness. For younger age groups, sessions may be tailored to focus on coordination and confidence-building through repetition and controlled small-sided exercises. For advanced players, realistic scenarios, tempo-based drills, transitional play and decision-making under pressure will be the focus. The session progressively increases in intensity through competitive exercises and conditioned games situationally that also integrate fitness.

Each session ends with a brief reflection segment, where I provide individualized feedback, highlight strengths and assign focus areas for continued improvement. My goal is to develop technically sharp, disciplined players who understand the game.
