Matthew Hodges

I have experience coaching baseball players at the high school and college level specifically the All American Summer Collegiate Baseball league and at Hickory Ridge High School. I can coach in all faucets of the game but mainly work with pitchers. I have also set up and ran Strength and Conditioning programs for both high school and college level athletes.

I played baseball at Hickory Ridge High School and went on to play four years of college baseball at Coker College(Div 2), Bluefield State College( Div 2) and Southern Wesleyan University ( Naia) before a shoulder injury ended my college pitching career. I also played Summer Collegiate Baseball for multiple teams in the Carolina Virginia Collegiate Summer Baseball League and played club baseball at Appalachian State University.

I start each session off by setting what goals are wanted to be achieved during that day. Then we move into a warm up and stretch and then depending on what the athlete needs to work on we will go from there. This could be basic throwing mechanics, arm strengthing program, bullpen sessions, recovery sessions, strength and conditioning or basic pitching or hitting mechanics. I also set goals and expectations of the workouts so we can work towards building a better player.
