He has a gift of leadership and likability that youth respond to and it enhances the learning curve of what he trains. I watched boys who just turned 7 years, to young men 15 years plus take immediate interest, have constant attentiveness, and most importantly, wanted more time with him ... more time with him. It was evident to these young ball players their instructor shared their sincere love for the game. They recognized a kindred spirit, a coach who's love for excellence and focus in the game rivaled their own and they were intrigued and excited. It was also evident to them it was a joy for him to share his knowledge of baseball and baseball technique, which made it enjoyable for the kids to learn. Drills were thoroughly discussed, then demonstrated step by step, then practiced. Each player was evaluated and more demonstration was offered, with a continual feeding of positive reinforcement and encouragement. At the close of each drill, a powwow, to reiterate and clarify the importance of the drill and to answer any questions. Since the camp, I have been to practices and even seen these young men in non baseball venues still doing the drills taught by Coach with an imaginary bat or ball in hand. Instruction, enthusiasm and patience carried on to the parents. He spent time with parents to share the needs of their child and to explain each drill learned. Every parent, both father and mother, took me aside to personally thank me for introducing them to Coach and every one of them said the same thing, 'In all the years my child has played, been to camps and private lesson, never has my child been taught all that he has learned from Coach. From my experiences, I fully believe he's worth his weight in gold.

My son Jacob has attended two of Coach Matt's camps and Jacob and I couldn’t be more thrilled! Coach Matt's demeanor is amazing! His teaching methods are awesome and so relatable! My son reiterates steps in his mind of what Coach Matt has taught him and his play on the field reflects his teachings. His swing is much more powerful and as a result connects with the ball much more consistently. As for pitching, the skills my son has learned has increased the speed of his pitches and he is also much more consistent with his pitches. Aside from all the “camp baseball skills ” Coach Matt has gone far beyond. He sent my son baseball videos of his training at camp and highlights the “dos” and “don’ts” of the time my son spent training. He follows up with my son and encourages my son to ask questions and offers just plain encouragement! He is truly a “kids” coach! He is EXTREMELY patient and is always there for them! I wish Coach Matt lived in my town. I wouldn’t think twice of having my son solely train with him and would feel honored if my son played on his team.
