More About Coach Matthew

I have for the past 3 years, coached state champion lacrosse teams in the Pacific Palisades of Los Angeles, CA.
Working alongside Palisades Charter High School Head Coach David Bucchino, I served as boys JV head lacrosse coach, as well as Palisades Lacrosse Varsity Defensive coordinator.

Additionally, I spent time training the upstart program at Paul Revere Middle School in Brentwood, CA.

In the offseason, coached for Palisades Lacrosse at numerous invitational tournaments as a contractor of “Fins Lacrosse Club”

Lastly, coached both JV and Varsity Fins Lacrosse Club teams in 5v5 box lacrosse in the Fall time.
2022 league champions in Torrence, CA, at both levels.

Picking up lacrosse in Orlando, FL in the 8th grade, I worked my way to become an All-Conference Lacrosse Defenseman in Orlando. Recognized alongside 3 active PLL professional lacrosse players, in the 2015 FL HS lacrosse season, I set and to this day hold the records for Ground Balls in a Season, Assists by a Defenseman in a season, and Forced Turnovers in a season at West Orange High School in Winter Garden, FL

For me, a session plan with a client will be built around three things in this order:
1. Skill
2. Speed
3. Strength

Lacrosse is a physically demanding game. The superior athletes make the best players, and make the best plays.

However, as much as I love to see the viral videos of Lamar Jackson picking up a lacrosse stick, unless the necessary fundamental skills of passing and catching, ground balls, man ball, cradling, clearing the ball up field, dodging, and evenoff ball movement are not coached properly, a young lacrosse player will never reach their full potential in my opinion.

In short, my sessions will be structured:
- 30 mins skill
- 15 mins speed
- 10 mins strength
- 5 mins rules coaching and skill specific suggestions for improving outside of session.
