I began personal training goalkeepers and field players during high school as an extra way to bring in some money. As I went to college out of state my networking increased and I was able to coach players all throughout my time at Oregon State and Penn State. I've coached as many as a team of u16s all the way to 8 goalkeepers at a time. I've coached in Arizona, Oregon as well as Pennsylvania in the last 5 years.

I am playing in my eighth season as a professional, currently with Austin FC after a successful college career playing goalkeeper at Oregon State, earning Pac 12 Second Team my second season and Honorable Mention my junior year before transferring to Penn State my senior season to begin grad school after graduating early from OSU. I grew up playing for Real Salt Lake's youth academy and was a homegrown player in the clubs system.

A client can expect a professional session coming from my years of experience playing with coaches at Real a Salt Lake, Sporting Kansas City, the Seattle Sounders and now the San Jose Earthquakes. I'll ensure a quality warm up before catering to the weekly needs of the player. My expertise ranges from distribution to the basic fundamentals of positioning and diving that a goalkeeper uses everyday. For field players I have specific shooting and dribbling experiences that I have been on the receiving end from players like Clint Dempsey, Obafemi Martins, and Graham Zusi. My whole goal is to help the player improve in any way I can. After an initial session of getting to see the tendencies and habits of a player I can structure a session towards advancing the development of the player in whatever time frame we have to work with getting the most of our time together.

Coach Matt was amazing! Punctual, responsive, professional, and very encouraging and supportive. My boy LOVED his first lesson with the coach and begged for having more. We could already see some improvement after the first lesson, which was really impressive. Thank you, coach!

Today was my daughter's first session with Matt. He arrived on time and took a few minutes to ask her what she wanted to work on. Today they worked on footwork, distribution, hand passes and goal kicks. Matt took time to evaluate my daughter and begin tailoring the training to help. By the end of the one hour, I could see improvements. My daughter learned a lot and walked away with more knowledge than she started with. We plan to schedule future sessions with Matt. Thank you.

Matt was great. My son plays comp at U15 level and had developed some mechanical issues with his shooting. Matt explained the problems and made 2-3 adjustments. He also explained what to look for if the issues started creeping back which allowed him to make in game adjustments. My son's accuracy and power was much improved. Matt's great with teens, helping my son with confidence as well.

I was impressed with Matt's approach to coaching my son. After accessing my son's skill level during the first session, Matt was quickly able to select a few drills that had my son striking the ball better and improved his spacial awareness with his first touch of the ball. This energized my son and we are both looking forward to the next session.
