More About Coach Masoud
I bring 9 years of coaching experience across all levels—from youth clubs and high school varsity teams to senior and professional athletes. My coaching highlights include serving as head coach for the Jackson Reed High School Girls Varsity team, where we reached the state finals for the first time in 9 years; assistant coach with the Maryland Bobcats FC professional team (NISA); and head coach for U16 and U11 boys teams with Potomac Soccer Association. I currently serve as the Director of Coaching and Player Development at Aspen Hill SC. I hold a USSF C License, am actively pursuing my B License (expected completion: December 2025), and have a Master’s degree in Sport Psychology.
I developed as a player in the youth academy of Persepolis FC, one of Iran’s top professional clubs, until the age of 13. This early experience shaped my technical foundation and deep understanding of the game.
I use a holistic approach with strong emphasis on mental (decision-making/tactical/game-understanding), emotional (sport/performance psychology; e.g. focus), and position-specific (outfield) fitness and technical development. Each session is designed to maximize repetition, variation, and decision-making. The sessions are one hour, and follow this general format:
- 8 min dynamic warm up (without the ball)
- 12 min technical/physical and mental activation (lower intensity technical warm up)
- 15-20 min principle-based skill development (general skills like receiving principles)
- 20-25 min position-specific skills (high intensity)
Fitness development is integrated directly into the soccer-specific drills, with intensity and load adjusted based on the player’s needs and developmental stage. I do not separate fitness from technical or tactical work—everything is done with the ball and in context.
