More About Coach Martin
I am currently the head varsity football coach and girls flag football coach in Northern New Jersey, as well as a physical education, health, driver’s education, and CPR instructor. I have over 10 years of coaching experience in football, girls flag football, track and field, strength and conditioning, volleyball and athlete development, primarily working with middle and high school athletes ages 13–18. I focus on position-specific training, speed and strength development, offseason programming, leadership, and helping athletes build confidence on and off the field.
I competed in football and track and field throughout high school and continued to stay involved in athletics through strength training, endurance events, and combat sports training. I have completed a marathon, half marathon, and a HYROX event, while continuing to train in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and strength and conditioning.
My athletic background has helped shape my coaching style, especially in areas like conditioning, leadership, discipline, and athlete development. While I did not compete at the professional level, I have over 10 years of experience coaching and developing athletes across football, flag football, track and field, and strength training.
A client can expect a structured, high-energy session focused on technique, effort, and measurable improvement. Every session begins with a dynamic warm-up, movement prep, and mobility work to reduce injury risk and get the athlete ready to train.
From there, sessions are built around the athlete’s goals. Football and flag football athletes can expect position-specific drills, footwork, speed and agility work, change of direction, reaction drills, tackling or blocking fundamentals, route running, throwing mechanics, and game-like competition. Strength and conditioning sessions typically include explosive movements, strength work, conditioning, core training, and recovery.
I focus heavily on proper technique, attention to detail, and building confidence. I like to coach with energy, keep athletes moving, and make sure they understand why they are doing each drill so that every session has a purpose.
