More About Coach Marissa
My first ever coaching experience was while I was in high school. My sophomore and junior years I was a teen coach in our summer feeder program our city used to have. Alongside our adult coaches, we helped with demonstrating skills/moves and also helped with making sure the grade schoolers were doing the moves/skills correctly. While in college, I did the same thing but only for one season because our team only held one summer camp. This time, I was in charge of my own group and made sure they learned the skills/moves demonstrated to them.
For two seasons, from 2010-2012, I was Assistant Girls Coach for Pleasantville High School's Varsity basketball team. During that time, I also was Assistant Coach for an AAU team for one year called the South Jersey Wildcats in 2011. The AAU team was a 15U team made up of freshmen and sophomore girls. In the summer of 2012 I assisted with running a summer feeder program for girls 5th grade through 12th grade. It was ran 2 days a week and provided fundamentals for the grade schoolers and skill sharpening for the high school girls.
I am a spot holder in the 1,000 point club in my high school. I was First Team all Cape Atlantic League in high school my senior year (2004). I attended Bloomfield College (2004-2008) and hold a spot in the 1,000 point club there as well.
My freshman year of college I was was Co-Rookie of the year for the CACC (Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference) and 2nd team all conference; averaging 14.4 PPG, 8.7 RPG, and .507 shooting percentage.
Sophomore year I made 3rd team all conference, averaging 11.5 PPG, 7.1 RPG, and a .475 shooting percentage. Junior year I made 2nd team all conference, averaging 15.8 PPG, 8.1 RPG, and a .467 shooting percentage.
My senior year I missed 13 games in my season due to a concussion during the middle of the season. I still was able to make honorable mention for the all conference team, averaging 12.8 PPG, 4.6 RPG, and a .432 shooting percentage.
My main focus while training will be FUNDAMENTALS!! As long as a player knows the fundamental skills/knowledge of ANY sport, they will be able to excel and put their own unique razzle-dazzle on their game. My main focus is grade-school level kids, therefore, getting them to understand the basics of the sport of basketball will be the goal.
A typical practice session will include (but not be limited to) conditioning (agility, stamina, and strength drills), skill focus (shooting, dribbling, rebounding, etc.) and skill games (fun games focused on sharpening the highlighted skill). I want to make your child love and cherish the game of basketball!

Coach Marissa was perfect! She worked with my daughter on every skill necessary to improve on her game. She’s very personable and professional, gave great feedback after every session, and enjoyed coaching my daughter, who can’t wait to have another session.
