More About Coach Marissa

I have been coaching private lessons for 4+ years now. I most recently worked at Total Soccer in Berwyn, PA where I designed programs for aspiring soccer players from 3-18 years old. I have also coached for Lancaster Inferno FC and Steel Sports during their summer youth programs and at the high school level for Notre Dame Academy. I typically work with ages 9-17 for my private lessons.

I play professional soccer and most recently played for the Portland Thorns in the NWSL this summer. I played professionally in Puerto Rico for 2 seasons (2022 and 2023.) I attended Temple University where I was a captain and 5 year starter for the women's soccer team. As an outside back/outside mid I logged the most minutes played for the Owls for 4 consecutive seasons.

During the summer, I play for Lancaster Inferno in the UWS (United Women's Soccer), a second-division pro-am women's soccer league. I am team captain and UWS East Conference First Team selection. I was awarded "Iron Woman of the Year" for the 2019, 2020, and 2021 seasons, logging the most minutes played throughout the league. I have led her team to two UWS East Conference Championships (2018 & 2019.) As well as National Runners-up (2018) and National Semi-Finalists(2019.)

I attended Villa Maria Academy, in Malvern, PA where I was a captain and 4-year varsity starter for her high school team. I also played club soccer for FC Delco at the ECNL level from u13-u19.

In my sessions I like to focus on ball mastery and foot skills. I like to start with some type of agility ladder or footwork to warmup. Moving into ball mastery and foot skills, allowing the player to get lots of touches on the ball. I like to add in some passing and finishing at the end of the session as well. As I spend more time with the player it helps me see what areas of his or her game we should focus on.

Client Reviews

Coach DiGenova worked with my 8-year old daughter. My daughter felt comfortable with coach after the first session. Coach did an excellent job helping her address some of the gaps in her play.
