More About Coach Maria

I received my Bachelors degree in Exercise/Physiology - minor in Nutrition. I have been a certified personal trainer/sports nutritionist for over 25 years, which I have spent helping kids of all ages from 5 to 90 yr olds.

I have been involved in schools all over Woodstock/Canton, GA, constantly speaking to classes regarding nutrition.

I teach kids bootcamps and adults along with group training and group fitness. My bootcamps consist of:

1. Cardiovascular Health & Muscular Fitness – including flexibility, speed, agility and speed training.
2. Motor Skills – throwing, kicking and hitting balls with controlled body movements.
3. Sports Skills – specific skill training in action of team games. I train skills for swimming, soccer, baseball, tennis, lacrosse, football and basketball.
4. Social Skills – developing teamwork and participation skills are incorporated daily. The kids are often challenged with a creative and social element to solve.
5. Psychological Drive – focus and mental stress release are effects from exercise. We create situations to encourage success along with inclusion games to build self-esteem and confidence. The FUN aspect builds good habits and motivation.
6. Nutritional Habits – We will go over daily diet and good habits. How to read food labels and what it means to have a healthy balanced nutritional diet.

Having fun and being happy with yourself is the key to success in fitness.

I have ran in 4 marathons, 2 tri-athlons, 2 bi-athlons, (5)10k, (5) 5K events throughout my years of personal training, bootcamps and group training.

-Develop physical activity programs for members, identifying and customizing
personal/athletic training activities to assist in the rehabilitation of various motor skills and physical strength of individual participants.
-Strength and performance training, dealing with athletes ranging from the 4th grade to the professional level in all sport categories
-Work “hands on” with all members/clients in gym. Monitoring current program participation in various activities, providing encouragement, motivation, and physical mentoring and mentor in reaching their fitness/nutrition goals.
