More About Coach Margi
I have been coaching lacrosse and field hockey for 8 years. I have coached high school lacrosse and field hockey, on both varsity and junior varsity levels, coached as head of club lacrosse for 2 years, and have been doing private lessons since I was 18 years old. I work as a coach and personal trainer, with my certifications. I have certifications as a personal trainer and am CPR certified. I earned my Master of Science in Sport Coaching and Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Psychology. I typically work with ages 12 and up.
I played lacrosse at West Virginia University, where I held captain positions for two years. I received a national field hockey award my senior year of high school for having winning 3 games in sudden-death tie-breakers. I played lacrosse and field hockey in high school at the varsity level, while also being on the elite team for my club lacrosse team from age 12-18.
A client can expect a positive environment, with high amount of feedback and positive reinforcement. I demonstrate and participate in the lessons. My main focus is to make athletes well-rounded players and human beings. The practice plans typically have cardio, agility, and performance drills incorporated into each lesson. I am cautious of age levels and create practice plans based on the athlete's personal goals and performance level of play. We would begin by stretching, moving through agility and foot work, then doing a cardiovascular exercise based on lacrosse, then move to more hands-on drills.
