More About Coach Marcus
I coach full-time as a futsal coach for Oasis Futsal Academy. We are a supplemental training program designed to help kids improve their skills in a club neutral environment prioritizing fun, learning, and individual development! Besides that, I have my level 1 and 2 Futsal coaching License as well as my grassroots US coaching license. Along with those experiences, I have played professionally and was mentored by coaches across Europe. Using all of that to create realistic trainings that I personally have done to get to an elite level.
I competed at the MLS next level all throughout my youth. Afterwards, I played overseas in Spain in the 5th division of professional soccer and then transferred to the 3rd division in the Czech Republic. After almost 2 years overseas I came back to the United States, where I was fortunate enough to play 2 semesters of college soccer. I now coach full time.
Every training I like to tailor to the needs of the player in order to help them improve at the skills they need to succeed. Every session I split into 3rds. The first 20 minutes I focus of speed, agility, explosiveness, and quickness with the feet. The second 20 minutes will be a technical focus, this will be something that I notice is a bit weaker in the player's game, and finally I end off on a shooting/going to goal drill where we incorporate scenarios that are position specific so the player can improve on their technique and decision making in real game situations.
