More About Coach Marcus
I have worked with athletes from the ages of 6 and up all throughout my college career. Unlike a lot of trainers and coaches I am part of a select few that grew up and attended school in this area and went on to play division 1 basketball and currently play professionally. With my experience of the game of basketball and the knowledge I have of what it takes to get recruited from this area I am able and willing to both help athletes improve their game and give them the mental edge they need to both be a better player and get through the recruiting process. I have been a basketball camp instructor and have also trained many athletes one on one. All in all I have a deep passion and love for the game of basketball and would like to use my knowledge to help guide players through the process of becoming better players and better people.
I played division one basketball at Eastern Kentucky University where I was a starting guard. My team won our conference and we played Kansas the first round of the 2014 NCAA tournament. I was also the NCAA Slam Dunk Champion that same year. After school I attended a pre-draft workout with the Milwaukee Bucks (NBA). And from there I played in the NBA Development League, Spain and Canada.
Ill first talk with the athlete or parent and see if theres anything specific theyd like to improve on. Then from there i will build the sessions accordingly. In order to produce the best possible results. While also throwing little pointers and things in ive learned so that when it comes time for games they can work smarter not harder.
