More About Coach Marco

Since graduating from UMass Lowell in 2015, I have had the privilege of being the Boy’s JV Basketball Coach at Beaver Country Day School (Chestnut Hill, MA). In March of 2019, I became licensed as a USA Basketball Coach while also working as a basketball skills trainer/coach for various youth basketball organizations including:
*Massachusetts Youth Committed to Winning (MYCW)
*Base Hoopz,
*Frenchy US Camps (based in France)
*New England Sports Academy/Athletic Evolution
Being a student of the game, I always look to continuously refine and improve, not only my knowledge of the game, but, ways in which to teach these concepts to others. My playing, coaching and classroom teaching experience has provided me with the opportunity to gain expertise working with various populations including boys and girls between the ages of 9-19.
Working within these organizations inspired me to start my own organization, Catracho Ballers
Inc. In our first year, we have formed an international basketball brand, successfully organized and run our first international basketball camps in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, as well as, Managua, Nicaragua. As a result of our work we have also been recognized by The International Basketball Federation, or more commonly known as, FIBA, as the premier youth basketball organization in Honduras.

*Played four years of varsity basketball at the John D. O’Bryant School of Mathematics and Science (Boston) before completing one post-graduate year at Brimmer and May School (Chestnut Hill).
O'Bryant: Served as team captain for two seasons, was twice named a Boston City League All-Star and three City League South championships.
Brmmer & May: Awarded team MVP honors and was named 3rd-team All-State by ESPN Rise, 3rd-team All-NEPSAC and a New England All-Star.
*Received a full athletic scholarship to play NCAA Division-I basketball at Northeastern University and UMass Lowell. At Northeastern, helped the team win the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Regular Season Championship and participated in 2013 National Invitational Tournament. Named America East Conference Player of the Week and received Riverhawk of the Week recognition at UMass Lowell.
*Participated in various FIBA-sponsored athletic competitions representing Honduras on their Men's National Basketball Team earning Bronze medals in 2015 (El Salvador) and 2017 (Nicaragua). Played with Metapan AD in El Salvador's Liga Mayor de Baloncesto (LMB).

The session will always begin with a dynamic warm-up to prepare for the workout. Dynamic warm up exercises include some stretching, muscular activation, agility work, and light cardio to get the heart pumping, blood flowing and muscles ready to go! After the warm up, we'll move on to some fundamental skill work- dribbling, shooting, passing- and any particular skills that the client would like to focus/improve on. This will be followed by different drills to mimic game-like movements at game speed in order to improve cardiovascular endurance and to help clients acquire skills at an autonomous level.
