More About Coach Maggie

I have been coaching and training athletes since high school, leading both individual and camp-based sessions. As an undergraduate at Duke University, I played an active role in coaching at all of the university’s ID camps, where I led my own training groups and worked with athletes aged 10 and up. Additionally, I provided individualized training for young players both during high school and throughout my summers.
While I am currently in the process of obtaining my coaching certifications, I bring years of hands-on experience in player development. Now competing as a professional athlete for the Houston Dash, I am passionate about helping young athletes—both girls and boys—refine their skills, enhance their fitness, and take their game to the next level.

Collegiate Career:
I played for the Duke University Blue Devils from 2020 to 2024, making 101 appearances and 72 starts. During this time, I recorded 22 goals and 15 assists, accumulating 59 points. Notably, I contributed eight game-winning goals, ranking tied for 17th in Duke's history. I am one of only three players in Duke's history to have scored at least one goal in each of my five seasons, and my 101 matches played rank third in the program's records.

In my graduate season in 2024, I led the team with 14 goals and added five assists, earning several accolades:
MAC Hermann Trophy Finalist: Recognized as one of the top players in collegiate soccer.
United Soccer Coaches First Team All-American: Honored among the nation's best players.
ACC Midfielder of the Year: Acknowledged as the top midfielder in the Atlantic Coast Conference.
All-ACC First Team: Selected for outstanding performance in the conference.
United Soccer Coaches First Team All-Region: Recognized for excellence in the region.
College Sports Communicators First-Team Academic All-American: Honored for exceptional academic and athletic achievements

Professional Career:
In January 2025, I signed a three-year contract with the Houston Dash of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), marking the beginning of my professional career. This signing was particularly significant as it was the club's first collegiate signing following the abolition of the college draft under the new collective bargaining agreement. I am eager to bring my experience and dedication to the professional stage, contributing to the success of the Houston Dash in the upcoming seasons.

A typical training session with me is designed to develop technical skills, tactical awareness, and overall fitness. I begin with individual technical drills, progressively increasing the complexity to include advanced passing patterns. From there, I incorporate shooting and dribbling exercises that integrate elements of fitness to enhance endurance and agility. As the session progresses, I transition these drills into game-specific, tactically challenging scenarios aimed at improving decision-making and soccer IQ. I conclude each session with time dedicated to either targeted fitness work or addressing the athlete’s specific goals. I take pride in my relentless work ethic and deep understanding of the game, qualities I strive to instill in every athlete I train. My goal is to help players refine their skills, sharpen their tactical awareness, and gain a competitive edge on the field.
