More About Coach Logan
I offer primary hitting & pitching lessons for any age athlete, as well as specialized base running and outfield lessons upon request . I have been an assistant coach for multiple level age groups in select baseball. I have been providing professional pitching and hitting instruction over the last 4 years. I offer a money back guarantee on any instruction lessons provided by me that parent or athlete may feel was not successful. I stand behind my knowledge and work and hope to be able to share it with my clients and allow them to pursue their passions and dreams as a young athlete.
Baseball is my passion, it has become apart of who I am today. I played baseball at the highest level my entire career. After forgoing the 2013 MLB draft my senior year I chose to attend Hill JC where I unfortunately ended my career their with a career ending injury. Through my many years of experience and high caliber instruction received, I have a unique set of tools and resources to better my athletes on and off the field. I personally have a deep conviction for the mental side of the game. I believe if you do not know how to mentally prepare and approach the game of baseball then the physical part of your game will never reach its full potential.
Here are a list of a few of my achievements:
2013 Rawlings Preseason All-American and All Region Teams
2012 PG Preseason Underclassman All American Teams
Ranked 111th Nationally
Ranked 57th in State of Texas
PG rating of 9 out of 10.
Rawlings Top Prospect in the National Underclass Session 3
OF 2nd team all state in 2013 State Tournament
Each athlete is unique in their own way. I like to get to know each-one I work with to better understand them, their skill set, and their general athletic abilities and drive. In the first hitting session I like to allow the athlete to get comfortable and relaxed allowing me to see their coordination, balance, hand speed, load & weight transfer, etc. This allows me to analyze their swing mechanics to determine where they are most flawed mechanically and how I can best maximize their power and consistency with the fewest adjustments possible. From there, I will introduce new drills to reinforce and practice the repetition of new mechanical changes and developing GOOD habits and getting rid of the BAD. I don't like to over load information on young athletes. We work one piece at a time until it can be repeated consistently and then we focus on the next mechanical adjustment. I allow the player to be comfortable and feel as natural as possible while incorporating the correct habits and form. Obviously, age and experience has a lot to do with how detailed and in depth we go instructionally. For the more advanced/experienced players who may not need so much mechanical adjustments but just minor tweaks to keep the swing fresh, we will focus on live at bats, mental approaches, filming and breaking down the swing in front of us. Baseball is 80% mental and 20% physical. Your mental approach is more important than your mechanics. I've had the privilege of working with the most elite college and professional coaches around the country during my career. I love dedicated athletes who are passionate and competitive and always trying to gain an edge on their competition. I look forward to the opportunity to work with your athlete and developing your son into a better baseball player on the field and an even better athlete off the field. I love to share with my athletes my experiences and highlights of my career but I also am transparent and want them to learn from the mistakes of my career.
