More About Coach Lazaro

I have been involved in coaching for over 20 years since finishing my college career. My coaching experience comes from coaching High School, Middle School, to now having my own travel organization (Elite Santos Baseball). I currently have 3 teams that I manage (12u, 13u, 14u), and previously I coached at Team Carolina and coached their 11u and 15u showcase select team.

I started my private coaching 3 years ago, I held several summer camps in 2016 for the Waxhaw Baseball Organization. I have clients that range from 7 to 18 years of age, I focus on making them fundamentally ready to play this game. Along with the mental approach needed to play this game at a high level. I provide baseball players of all levels, with position specific mental and mechanical training on and off the field. Developing and mentoring baseball players throughout their playing careers.

I have been playing baseball since I was 7 years old. I played in some of the top teams in South Florida. I earned All American Honors in High School 3 years in a row for McArthur High. I played two years in junior college at Miami Dade where I earned All Southern Conference in my second year and went on to play at a major university (UM).

I start all of my sessions with the athlete doing dynamics. This enables them to get loose and they will not risk injuries. I am a certified NASM trainer so I then work on speed and agility to improve their running mechanics, technique, and improve on their speed. Baseball players are measured on running the 60 yard dash, so I always test my players as a first time evaluation and then test again every two weeks to monitor improvement. Before doing any baseball drills we always start with a throwing progression, where we begin at a close distance on one knee and work our way out till we get some good long toss in to build arm strength. My throwing drills are done with a focus on proper mechanics (keeping the elbow up and throwing from the top), and I also make sure they are using their lower half. Then I begin my sessions with what the ballplayer wants to work on, from position specific (catcher, pitching, etc.) to learning all aspects of the game. As with every training I go through a series of drills, for example if I am working with a catcher we do receiving with and without glove, foot work, pop time, throwing, etc. All of training's are recorded so that I can evaluate for my next session also have something to look back and see my players progress.

Coach Lazaro was a great help to my son, very professional, and great experience. I will definitely be booking my next lesson soon. My boy had a good session.

Great job coach.

Coach Lazaro was wonderful in getting my son ready for baseball tryouts. Each session was something new and very beneficial to preparing my son. I highly recommend him as a coach and really appreciated his guidance. Coach Laz even followed up after the tryouts, which meant a lot to me and my son. What a great experience! Thank you coach Laz!

Coach Laz was great with my 9 year old. He really focused on teaching the fundamentals which will provide a basis for future success. Coach Laz was encouraging and upbeat during the entire session. I would highly recommend coach Laz to anyone.

I am amazed at the improvement my son made after just one hour with Lazaro! Highly recommended!

Good suggestions and pointers provided to my son and will definitely continue with Coach Lazaro

Coach Laz is an excellent coach. He is great with kids of all ages. My son has been working consistently with Coach Laz since the age of 7 for over a year and a half. He works on every aspect of the game as needed. Hitting, fielding , pitching, and catching. He has taught my son the proper mechanics and if it wasn't for Coach Laz my son probably wouldn't have made a travel ball team and become the player that he is.
I recommend Coach Laz to all of my friends and co-workers, he is very good at what he does and he loves it which is very important to me
My son Mark has been working with Coach Laz for almost 2 years and his game has come a long way. He loves baseball and loves working with Coach Laz
