More About Coach Lawrence

I am an ex- Division 1 baseball player, with experience at the Division 1, JUCO, and NAIA level. I was a 2-way player for my first two college years and then perused full time pitching for my Junior and Senior seasons. Along with being a baseball player, I am a certified personal trainer through the NFPT and a certificate pitching coach with the National Pitching Association. I do not just do hitting and pitching lessons, I also work with college recruiters to find places for kids to play college baseball.

Before we do anything, I will listen to the client talk about upcoming goals and set up short term, and long term plans. A typical session training with me will include a dynamic warmup, followed by an evaluation of the clients initial skills. I will run them through a series of tests called the S.T.A.T Protocol, in which I address strength and weaknesses in biomechanics and functional strength. Having played at 4 different colleges, I have been around a ton of different ways of thinking when it comes to baseball, and I feel like that it the unique thing about myself as a player and that is something that I can offer to the client.

Lawerence is a top notch coach! He asked what our intentions were for the session and gave us options. We told him we wanted to focus on throwing mechanics. On the day of the session he was prepared and had a clear lesson plan. He clearly communicated each part of the session before and during the exercises, as well as did a check on understanding after. None of the explanations took too long or went too far off on tangents, instead both my son and I learned something valuable every time. Perhaps the most impressive element of Lawrence’s approach to training, is how he offers truthful assessment while still encouraging the player. My son left the session better informed, more motivated, and feeling good about himself. That is all we could ask for. We would definitely recommend Lawrence!
