More About Coach Lauren

I began playing Basketball at the age of 5. I instantly fell in love with the game. I played for my Church, Town, Middle School, High School, State, and College.

In Middle School, I received camper of the year in a High School co-ed Basketball Camp. In High School I made varsity my sophomore year and was team captain my senior year. I was also all conference my Senior Year in the state of Rhode Island and most athletic female in my senior year of High School. During my Middle School and High School years, I played for the Rhode Island Breakers in AAU and traveled all over the east coast including Bermuda for Tournaments.

After high school, I was recruited by Wendy Davis, UCONN Women's Basketball player, where I played under her for two years at Western New England College in Springfield MA. I then transferred for academic changes to Lasell College in Newton MA. I played under Kelly Stubbs who played for UMaine. I was Team Captain my Senior year, all Tournament team at Salem State Tip Off Tournament, All Conference GNAC, and co-MVP and co- Unsung Hero at Lasell Colleges Athletic Banquet. After graduating from Lasell College with a degree in Athletic Training and a minor in psychology, I was offered an opportunity to try out to play overseas but due to a significant family loss I was unable to attend.

I then began coaching at Massachusetts Bay Community College. I coached for one year. While coaching I was in charge of practice, traveling to games and recruiting.

After coaching I pursued continuing my education and recently received my master in Nutrition from Northeastern University

Basketball for me is a time where I can challenge myself, others, and teach the love of stepping on the court. There is no other feeling quite like being a competitor. I have had many challenges of being the small man on the court for the beginning of my career where I learned point guard and small guard skills.
-Dribbling
-Turning the defender
-Defense
-Communication
-Shooting
-Passing
-ETC

I then was lucky enough to grow very quickly and now stand at 5'10 where in college that is not considered tall. At Western New England I was a 3 (big guard) and at Lasell I was a 5(big forward)
-Rebounding
-Posting up
-Defense
-Communication
-Passing
-Short Corner
-Elbow Shots
-Driving to the hoop
-Double team defense
-Offensive skills
-ETC

My skills are well rounded all over the court. I can teach to hit a three, drive to the hoop or an up an under on the block.

I love seeing how athletes can progress and balance the life of an athlete. It is a very hard thing to do and it takes certain person to teach it. I am that person. I can balance all aspects of being a Student athlete.

My sessions will consist of forward progress each time we meet. Each sessions won't be easy but not distracting to goals. Each athlete has strengths and weakness so every client will be coached individually and treated with proper respect.
