I am an ACE (American Council on Exercise) certified personal trainer and Team USA competitor in short-distance triathlon. My specialties are teaching proper running form and introducing shy newcomers to formal strength and conditioning work. I believe in empowering youth and fellow women to become stronger, more confident, and more injury resistant. I’ve been blessed to have learned from some fantastic coaches during my own athletic development, and I believe in sharing what has been most beneficial to me.

I train and mentor athletes of high school age and older who are looking to increase their strength, balance, flexibility, and overall fitness and sense of wellbeing. Whether you are a novice or a seasoned athlete, I am eager to help you set and work towards your goals. My philosophy is that learning to become fitter is NOT about pushing harder. It’s about improving your mindset, adopting new mental tools, developing better form, and focusing on quality workouts that inspire self-confidence.

I am two-time USA Triathlon National Championships competitor. At National Championships in 2019, I placed within the top 10 amateur women in my age group from around the country. This qualified me for Team USA and USA Triathlon World Championships held in Edmonton, Canada, in 2020. I have three age-group wins out of three starts in the 2019 Kinetic Multisports triathlon series.

I placed 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 7th in the women’s overall division in road 5Ks throughout Virginia and North Carolina during 2019.
In previous years, I have completed eight marathons, including the Rome Marathon and the Athens Marathon, as well as four half-marathons.

I was a collegiate cyclist at Brown University during the 2015 and 2016 road seasons. I currently race criteriums with the Maryland-based road cycling team PHASE.

I am a proud owner of a double bodyweight deadlift PR.

I don’t believe in cookie-cutter plans because we aren’t cookie-cutter people. Client input and feedback is very important to me. After our first meeting, I will design a customized plan for you based on your specific goals, abilities, and time frame. Each workout, however, will include:
-- Dynamic stretching and plyometric drills
-- A structured workout adapted to a client's individual strength or cardiovascular fitness goals
--A watchful eye, friendly motivation, specific feedback on form as needed, and recommendations for home practice

It's been one month since I've met Coach Lauren and in that time I've made improvements in both my overall physical fitness as well as my run time. Working with Lauren is great because of her personality, she's calm, optimistic and respectful of your current status and pushes you to help reach your goals. Another thing that sets Lauren apart from other coaches is her multifaceted experience with runners ranging from younger and less experienced people to runners that have completed multiple 5K's and even our members in the military.
