More About Coach LaTonya
I have experience coaching middle school aged boys. I have worked as a coach at my current school where I work. I have worked with kids pre k - 8th grade. No industry certifications.
I played at St Frances Academy where I graduated as the Player of the Year in the state. I went on to earn a full athletic scholarship at the University of Virginia. I then went on to play as a professional in Portugal and Germany.
I client can expect me to be very motivating and encouraging. I have a lot of patience and I know it takes time and consistent practice to master the craft. With hard work and dedication, I know my players always got better at something each session. Dependent on the players position, strengths and weaknesses is what I focus on. I take their strengths and expand on them and I focus even more on their weaknesses by repetitive drills. A player, no matter the size, position should be a versatile player because it would make them much harder to guard. A typical work out session: stretch, a few conditioning drills (3 days a week), defensive drills, dribbling drills, shooting drills, stretch.
