More About Coach Latasha

I have coached athletes for almost 10 years at the collegiate, high school, middle school and elementary school level. While coaching at the collegiate level, I had the pleasure of developing players whom became ranked locally and nationally in the KIAC and NCAA. I have coached women's basketball at Midway University and Converse College but since exiting the collegiate coaching world, I have been coaching and training boys and girls in the Elmore County area starting at ages 6 and older since 2017. I pride myself on teaching life lessons through sports which allows me to coach, not only the athlete but the person. I provide athletes with the necessary tools they need to succeed on and off of the court.

During my undergraduate years, I had the pleasure of interning for the Montgomery Dream which was a semi-professional women's basketball team located in Montgomery, AL. Also, I interned with the NAIA Mid-South Conference during the Men’s and Women’s Basketball Championship and the NAIA Women's National Championship.

I have many coaching accomplishments and certifications, and I am CPR/ AED certified.

I am a former high school and collegiate athlete whom received scholarships in basketball, volleyball and track. I competed at Stillman College and Midway University. I pride myself on hard-work, dedication and sacrificing myself for the love of the game. I have received multiple MVP awards and All-tournament awards for high school and collegiate sports but the award I am most proud of is the Midway University Woman of the Year award. This award is given to an individual who demonstrates a profound sense of service to others; is an outstanding leader and role model; and is of strong character.

A typical session with me will focus on strength and conditioning which leads into speed and agility, defense, ball handling, finish moves and shooting drills. I train athletes to reach their full potential no matter their position. Athletes must be prepared to be challenged mentally, physically and emotionally so they can possess the skills that it takes to compete at a high level, consistently.
