More About Coach Kyle
I have been a member of the Arkansas State University Men's Basketball program (Division 1, Sun Belt Conference) for the past 4 years. 2 as a manager and graduate assistant and 2 on the coaching staff as the Director of Basketball Operations. I interacted with both players and coaches on a daily basis on and off the court. On the court I assisted with individual post and guard individual workouts as well as team workouts, team practices and game day operations. I have accumulated countless drills and workouts for every type of player by watching, learning and also implementing these drills for NCAA Division 1 players who wanted individual, private workouts after hours. I also helped run the Arkansas State Men's Basketball summer camp for kids ranging from age 5-17. For 2 summers I was also the head coach for a 7th grade AAU Basketball team in Jonesboro, AR called the Jonesboro Storm. During the winter when AAU basketball was not in session the parents of this AAU team asked me to do some individual training twice a week for their sons to improve their skills. I would have anywhere from 6-12 boys on a consistent basis for about 5 months that I worked on individual basketball skills with. I have worked at the NCAA Division 1 level 4 straight years under a former Final Four head coach whom I learned countless lessons and drills from. This is just a short summary of my previous experience and I would be more than happy to share any and all of the rest of my knowledge I have accumulated over the past few years.
I went to North Little Rock High School in North Little Rock, AR where my graduating class consisted of 540 students. So between the junior and senior class there were close to 1,200 students. My junior year I was 1 of 2 juniors to play on the 14 man varsity team that consisted of 12 seniors. That year I also started every game on the JV team. My senior year I started on the varsity team and would also sometimes be the 6th man coming off the bench. I was known as a defensive specialist and I had the responsibility of guarding the opposing team's best player night in and night out. I remember one guy in particular was averaging 35 points per game when we played them and at the end of the game he walked out of our gym with only 7 points on the night because of me. I did not pursue competition at the collegiate level but after being away from basketball for a few years once I went to college and was a normal student I decided my junior year that I couldn't live without basketball so I set my eyes towards my career goal to one day become an NCAA Division 1 Head Coach.
The very first session I had an athlete would be an evaluation session. I would ask the athlete and the parents in what area they were looking to improve the most on and then would put the athlete through specific drills that coordinate with that area. If the athlete wanted a total all around improvement I would divide the workout into groups that consisted of ball handling drills, shooting drills, defensive drills, and coordination drills. If an athlete wanted to improve on a specific aspect of their game I would coordinate the entire session to one specific area. I have basketball drills for days for players of any age.

Connor Kern/Student-Athlete, Arkansas State University Men's Basketball (Testimonial)
Kyle Drake was a great addition to our basketball program. He was always attentive and on time no what time of the day we were meeting. He was very organized and on top of things whenever anything was needed from him. He puts others needs before his own and if you ever needed any help, basketball related or not, he was always there to lend a hand. If you needed a workout party late nights in the gym he was there to help. He is a family man and treats every player as if we are his family and he respected each and every one of us no matter the attitude he was given by the players. He was a great friend on top of being a good coach when it came to bettering the program.
Jeff Clapacs/Director of Basketball Operations, East Tennessee State University (Testimonial)

Carlos Wilson/Assistant Coach, Arkansas State University Men's Basketball (Testimonial)
During my years in the coaching business, I've been blessed to work with many great coaches. What I have noticed is that the great ones share attributes that leads to their success in this business. Kyle Drake definitely possesses the character, charisma, work ethic, knowledge of the game, and the passion that it takes to reach today's athlete. There is no doubt in my mind he is someone whom I would entrust my son or daughter with to help them in their maturation as a player and person.
