More About Coach Kyle

Throughout my time in high school I would conduct private lessons with local kids from ages 6-12 teaching them the basics of hitting, pitching, and fielding. Once I entered into professional baseball, every offseason I would return home and was an assistant coach for my former high school team during the fall season while also performing private lessons for kids around local high school and middle schools in the area. Ages would range from 6-18 years old.

Attended Florida State University on a baseball scholarship from 2011-2013.
Pitched in the College World Series my freshman season.
Transferred to Flagler College for my junior season.
Drafted in 2014 to the Tampa Bay Rays. (35th round)
Played 9 seasons as a professional baseball player.
Made it to AAA Durham Bulls with the Tampa Bay Rays organization where we won the International League championship.
Major League Opening Day roster and debut in 2019 with the Texas Rangers organization.
Played overseas in Japan during the 2021 season.
2022 was my last season with the Seattle Mariners AAA team. (Tacoma Rainiers)
Arizona Fall League invite in 2016.

While pitching is my specialty I work with clients on all facets of the game.

Pitching:
1st day would be an assessment day where I would take them through a warm up and get a feel for mechanics, intent, etc. From there I would communicate with the player on what they would like to accomplish moving forward while improving their mechanics, mindset, and anything else they would be looking to improve on. Would provide videos to show players real time analysis on where they are currently and what they need to do in order to improve. Will also explain the mental side of the game and how to tunnel pitches off of each other to use during a game situation.

Hitting:
Assessment day again to see what strengths and weaknesses a player has and work towards fixing those weaknesses and building off of their strengths. Will provide video to explain what is needed in order to accomplish these goals. Will talk to them about the mental side of the game as far as what opposing pitchers would be trying to do in order to get them out and come up with an approach for them to have during games.

Catching:
Work with players through a set of drills that will teach them how to block, receive, and cover their position all around. Will also work on pop times and how to manage the game from behind the plate. All catching drills can be paired with hitting or pitching instruction during the session.

Infield/Outfield:
For infielders we would start by taking ground balls at their position and learn the fundamentals of presenting the glove and making a good throw to the necessary base. Will also educate players on the importance of what to do with whatever game situation they are presented with so they are prepared for the moment. For outfielders, we would work on reading fly balls and making throws to each base along with what to do in certain situations the game could present them with.
All infield and outfield work can be paired with pitching and hitting lessons during the session.
