More About Coach Kiyan
I have experience coaching both goalkeepers and field players. I coached the girls varsity team at the School Without Walls (high school) in Washington, DC for two years, helping record one undefeated regular season and back-to-back championship games. I've worked with athletes of all ages in the past. I don't currently hold any coaching certifications.
In high school, at the varsity level, I was named first team all Arizona my senior year as a goalkeeper, when we also won the state championship. In college, at Ohio Wesleyan University, I learned from the legendary Jay Martin. During my four years of college, we qualified for the NCAA tournament all four years, reached the Final Four once, and recorded one undefeated regular season as the number one team in the country.
Sessions will vary based on a client's goals and gradually increase in intensity. In addition to skills, we will focus on developing mental habits that can help increase an athlete's productivity. At some point in your playing career, everyone becomes fast and strong, having a mental edge over your opponents can help you maintain and increase your level. A typical session begins with a 5-minute warm up and ends with a 5-minute cool down, after we've decided on the objectives for the day. The rest of the time will be broken into four 10 to 12-minute skill-based drills to help you develop toward your objectives.
