More About Coach Kiki
I was a coach at Mesa Community College and had coached at Corona High School, Norco Girls Softball League coach for 12u, conducted clinics for ages 6-17, pitching lessons for 5 athletes 10-15, 3 years at Grand Canyon Universiy Softball clinic ages 13-17.
I attended Grand Canyon University for 3 years on the softball team which held the 2nd highest team gpa in the nation for 3 years. Won Western Athletic Conference, Scholar Athlete 2014, hold the career record for most shutouts in pitching career, WAC pitcher of the week 2014, 2nd team All-Conference 2014, 1st team All-Conference 2013, 1st team All-League 2011, and 1st team All-League MVP 2009 and 2008.
I feel that each session and client or athlete is different. Before the lesson begins I ask that the athlete is fully warmed up, by stretching and throwing, this is because each session is limited with time and I like to make sure that the athlete gets what they are paying for. In the beginning of the session I like to watch the athlete do at least 5 pitches, swings or glove drills before the lesson begins. That way I can see what I need to focus on. Once I get the lesson going I make sure I ask a lot of questions to make sure the athlete understands what I am teaching. At the end of the lesson I give the athlete 2-4 things to work on until the next lesson. That way while the athlete is away they gain the responsibility to become better.
