More About Coach Kiki

Hi! I'm Kiki, a tennis coach based in NYC. I've been playing this sport since I was about height of a tennis racquet and love to spread the joy of the game with players of all ages. I currently work regularly as a hitting partner for advanced players and have a background teaching fundamentals to novice players, especially kids and teenagers.

My coaching career started not long after my tennis career. As a kid, I ran my own clinics to teach friends the fundamentals of the game and ran round robins... From 8am-6pm every day of the summer growing up, I was on the court, participating in clinics, running my own, or competing. In middle school, I restructured the school's physical education tennis unit. In high school, I gave private lessons to younger kids throughout the school year, and balanced that with my own competition schedule. I spent summers teaching at Windridge Tennis Academy, widely known as one of the best summer tennis camps. At Windridge, I worked with kids aged 6-16 and developed a teaching strategy based on my own 10,000 hours developing as a young player.

Since moving to New York, I've given private lessons to developing young players and acted as a hitting partner for both novice and advanced players. I'm happy to work with clients of all skill levels and ages - anything to spend more time on the court.

While my proudest accomplishment is definitely the "most improved" paper plate from my middle school tennis team in the sixth grade after having developed a conditioning strategy outside of team conditioning... I have a couple of slightly less flimsy achievements and awards.

My career high as a USTA junior was 7th in the state, and I was a Division 1 State Champion three years in high school, earning the most match wins of any division one player in the state sophomore year, and achieving all state status junior and senior year.

A session with me depends completely on what you're looking for - before we begin working together, I'd like to know about your goals as a player, or goals for your child. When it comes to teaching fundamentals, I place emphasis on technique and form first and foremost, since these elements are the basis of a solid game. For players who have already mastered the basics, we'll practice drills to improve consistency and test strategy. Most advanced players come to me with a specific request to improve their game, so we can dial in our sessions to focus on whatever that may be, whether it's mastering a topspin second serve, singles and doubles strategy, developing an effective conditioning routine, or simply improving consistency and raising percentages.

No matter what our lesson plan looks like, I can promise that not only will we work to meet your goals, but we'll also have fun. I know it sounds cliché to say, but the joy of the game goes beyond training, and I strive to make our time together exciting, engaging, and fun, especially with kids learning the game, because it's the biggest encouragement for them to keep playing.
