More About Coach Kevin
I have extensive coaching experience in the 5-18 year old range. While playing for DC United Academy during my high school years, I worked the Jaime Moreno soccer camp for three straight summers. I coached ages 5-10 during this camp, supervising between 10-30 kids at a time. During my time at the University of Virginia, I coached for their summer camp "Virginia Soccer Camp of Champions". During this camp, I regularly coached the "elite" group which consisted of high school juniors and seniors.
Chantilly High School: 3 time all-conference first team, 4 time Honorable Mention All-Met, team captain Sophomore-Senior year, team MVP Junior year.
DC United Academy: Team captain, 2009 MLS Generation Adidas Cup Finalist, 2009 Academy National Championship Finalist, played alongside numerous future professionals that include Bill Hamid and Andy Najar, earned scholarship to University of Virginia. Also, was called up to train with the professional team on numerous occasions when they were short on practice players.
University of Virginia: Six time ACC Academic Award, 2013 ACC Championship Finalist, 2013 NCAA Semi-finalist.
I believe that every player, no matter their position, should have a few key skills in order to be a complete and dynamic player. A client can expect a technical session that focuses on three key areas: foot skills, passing, and positioning. I will first focus on ball control and technical ability, going through drills that 1 on 1 drills that bring out a player's technical capabilities. I will then turn to passing accuracy, passing control, and passing awareness. I will teach what types of passes make sense in certain situations. I will then teach positioning and body movement.
