More About Coach Kevin

I am UKSCA (United Kingdom Strength and conditioning Association) trained S&C coach with 5 years experience coaching youth and adult athletes on speed and agility development. I have completed several courses in speed and agility development and have applied the learnings in a field based environment. I am an experienced soccer goalkeeping coach and GAA(Gaelic Athletic Association) coach and I always like to include speed based drills combined with ball-work.

I am and All Ireland club winning goalkeeper with my native club Caltra in Galway, Ireland
I represented my County Galway for a number of years at senior level as a goalkeeper in Ireland
I played soccer as a goalkeeper with Mervue UTD for a number of years in the Galway district league in Ireland
I also played for CB trotters both as a goalkeeper and a outfield player in the Galway district league
In recent years I have worked with multiple teams as a Performance Analyst including Galway U21, Corofin, Galway Senior Hurlers
I am currently providing some coaching services to Santa Rosa UTD

After an initial assessment of movement and overall mobility depending on availability I would prescribe a multi week programme designed to develop overall speed and agility of the athlete. Field Sessions would typically start with a dynamic movement based warm-up activating all the major muscles required for a speed and agility session. The main body of this field session would then include running mechanics and speed based drills completed at maximum effort and agility drills designed to improve the movement capability of the athlete. I would also prescribe gym based workouts for the athlete to aid in the speed development process.
