More About Coach Kevin

I have coached catchers at the high school level (Bermudian Springs HS) for 4 years, American Legion (Senior) for 3 seasons, American Legion (Junior) for a season, Legion Fall Baseball for 2 seasons (including an undefeated season) and youth 10-12 year olds for 2 seasons. I am currently freelance coach and consultant for college players, high school programs and travel teams where my focus is with pitchers and catchers but work with all players on their hitting, fielding and base running skills. I work with players that range in age from 10 through college. 9 former players have gone on to play at the collegiate level. Additionally I work with special needs players as well. I am also a coach with the Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy in Washington, DC.

As a coach, I was on the staff at Bermudian Springs high school and part of 3 YAIAA Division 3 championship teams, We were YAIAA League runner up, we won the PIAA District 3 Championship and the PIAA AA State Championships. I coached 9 players that went on to play college baseball.

I coach players on the fundamentals at every lesson and then target a specific area where a player needs added attention. A typical lesson is broken down into 6 - 10 minute segments.

Coach Dunny was the perfect coach for my son. Dunny has the patience, temperament and enthusiasm to make training enjoyable for an 11 year old. My primary requirement was that my son have a better understanding of the fundamentals and Coach Dunny delivered. We’ll be back for another set of lessons in the Spring.

Being at a highschool where our baseball program is not the best, and having an athletic department with a focus not on college level playing, learning about college, contacting coaches, making video and more is not something on the top of their list. Having someone who is knowledgeable in this and willing to help is a great help. Having coach Dunlap guide and assist me with video, practicing, and contacting college coaches is a huge help. He is great with positive reinforcement as well as overall knowing baseball as a whole. He is great with knowing what needs to be done and what needs to be worked on with the player. Overall a very good coach

We were thrilled to find Kevin as a coach on Coachup. Our son enjoyed working him and wanted to schedule more
Sessions with him. He was so easy to talk
to, patient, kind, encouraging, and knows his stuff.
After the session, he filled us in on the purpose of each exercise and gave us exercises for him to do at home. He also sent a message detailing the specific exercises! Try him- you’ll like it:). Thanks again Coach Kevin
and we look forward to working with you soon!

I was new to using Coach Up so when I searched the site for a baseball coach that could help my 13 year old work on his catcher skills, I found Coach Kevin (Dunny). He had excellent reviews and a very experienced background in coaching. My son had his first session with Coach Dunny yesterday and all I can say is “wow”! I think he taught my son more in just one hour than he’s ever been told about how to play baseball (and the catcher position) in his previous six years of playing! My husband and I were more than impressed with Coach Dunny’s knowledge, approach, and coaching skills. My son was so motivated by Coach Dunny’s coaching style that he was sporting a huge smile all the way home. Even after just one session, I can tell Coach Dunny is someone who instills confidence in those players he teaches. We just signed up for additional sessions and my son can’t wait for them. I would highly recommend Coach Dunny to anyone looking for a compassionate, respectful, and knowledgeable baseball coach. Coach Dunny is awesome!

We had a great experience with Coach "Dunny" Our son has special needs (down syndrome) but to coach he was a typical kid that wanted to get better at hitting. We thought we would just have Alex take some lessons and that would be it but after 10 lessons we were shocked when Alex was hitting off speed pitches as well as fast balls. Coach Dunlap never coached Alex like he was a special needs player, he coached him like he would coach any baseball player. The fact that Alex had special needs just meant that he would learn a little slower. So happy that we found Coach DunnyAmanda
Coach Dunlap worked with my son for a month before he started his freshman year of high school. Andy went from a kid that would dive out of the way of anything close to a confident kid that hit .411 and made his way up to varsity. His patience was incredible and he stuck to a plan even when I thought that things weren't progressing. He is very methodical and has a drill for every shortcoming. You will not find a better coach.
I was an assistant junior varsity coach at Bermudian Springs high school under coach Dunlap. The knowledge that he has for the game is enormous and the passion is even greater. One of the great things that I picked up and learned more from coach was his understanding of situational baseball. Many people can teach the fundamentals but coach was exceptional at teaching the fundamentals and skills and mind set of the various situations that arise during a game. He is very good at communicating his knowledge of the game and makes it easy for kids and young adults to understand and grasp. He is also a great motivator and supporter while teaching the game. I would accept an offer to coach with him again in the future and would recommend him as a trainer for anyone.
Coach Dunlap is by all definitions a player's coach. He is a stand-up guy who preaches character and practice in itself. What I mean by practice in itself is that he is procedural. He gets the little things. An example would be instead of just showing player A how to swing a bat, he will scrutinize every swing until it is fundamentally sound. More than anything though he is a great guy and any kid who gets him is lucky to have him.
