More About Coach Kenny
I am a Certified Personal Trainer and have been giving private personal training sessions in FL for the past 3 years, but I really enjoyed working with the children in a sport specific manner. My coaching is based on the principles I learned from my own coach and incorporates the drills I found most helpful as a high school and collegiate player.
I enjoy working with players of all ages and levels, but I especially enjoy the challenge of coaching teenagers, because with them I can make the biggest difference in their game. My specialties include pitching, proper form, proper way to throw different pitches, eliminating unnecessary movement, and developing mental toughness. I focus on teaching proper form to get the most out of every movement without injury.
I start my sessions with a dynamic warm up, followed by skill and footwork development, conditioning, speed, agility, playing catch, and building arm strength. When my athlete is ready, I will have him practice each pitch properly. After each session, I want my athlete to feel confidence in the improvement in his or her game.
I played both high school and college Baseball and Basketball. I was the #1 pitcher on my high school team with area honors on an annual basis. I pitched for Kaskaskia College in IL from 1997 to 1998 recording the record for saves in a season at the time. I was also a starting pitcher 1 year for that team. This was done while being on a Basketball scholarship as well. I am a Certified Personal Trainer who enjoys sport specific training with children.
As a former player, I know how important it is to be in shape when playing any sport. So I start my sessions with a dynamic warm up, followed by skill and footwork development, conditioning, speed, and agility. That would be followed by playing catch and building arm strength. When my athlete is ready, I will have him practice each pitch properly. After each session, I want my athlete to feel confidence in the improvement in his or her game.
