More About Coach Kendall
I have been coaching field hockey players on and off for 20 years. From youth novices to high performing teens, I flex my style of coaching to the needs of each athlete. Currently, I am the Head Coach for University High School's JV team. Previously, I have coached for a variety of local Bay Area club teams, USA Field Hockey's Olympic Development Program (Nexus fka Futures), and many collegiate summer camps.
I currently play for The Olympic Club, winning Adult Club National Championships in 2019 and 2022. In college, I played for the University of Maryland from 2004-2006, winning NCAA DI National Championships in 2005 and 2006, and an ACC Championship in 2005.
Each of my sessions is tailored to an athlete's specific needs. For a novice player, we work on grips, body positioning, basic ball handling and passing. For a more advanced player, we focus on speed of execution, strength of fundamentals, and position-specific skills like goal-scoring or block-tackling.
