More About Coach Kelsey

For the past 3 years I have coached girls varsity basketball at Washington Township High School . I also coached 1 year of track and field , where I was the head throwing coach, specializing in javelin. When I was in high school I started, ran, and coached basketball for 5-8 year olds in Hillsborough, NJ. I am now a certified personal trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), but I have been training clients and athletes for the past year. I am also CPR, AED, and Red Cross first aid certified. I do not limit who I train, because I tailor my programs on an individual basis.

In high school I was a 3 sport varsity athlete. I played for The College of New Jersey women's basketball team from 2007-2012. I earned the 2007 NJAC rookie of the year award and was also named the 2007-2008 ECAC Metro Rookie of the Year. In 2008-2008 I participated in the NCAA D3 Final Four in Holland, MI, where we placed 3rd in the nation. In high school and college I surpassed the 1,000 point milestone. I am also on numerous record lists for the TCNJ Women's Basketball program.

The first session is an assessment day, where I have every client fill out questionnaires that will help me assess your current fitness levels. There will also be a series of physical tasks that will show me what imbalances, if any, your body may have. This gives me a good indication of where I need to begin when developing your training program. Every program is different based on the clients specific goals and abilities. Typical there is a warm up component, that focuses on different phases that get your adequately prepared for your work out. I design circuit programs, 3-day, 4-day, and 5-day muscular endurance training programs. Each session length is different, depending on the time constraints of the client, but range from 30 minutes to 1 hour. (no including cardiovascular training. Each endurance session begins with a warm up, resistance training, core (2-3x per week) and finished with a cool down and stretch. My focus is on improving how well the body functions in a clients everyday lift.
